My learning aims :

• understand the features and uses of computer networking 
• design a computer network 
• develop and test a computer network 
• review the finished computer network.

Introduction

I first thought ‘boring!’  Even the name sounds boring.  However, there is so much to learn about computer networks that there isn’t any time to get bored.  Plus our teacher Augustine always had different ways to describe networks and he always wanted us to get our work done ‘sharp sharp’ (his catchphrase!).

Like in most other units the first thing we had to do was make sure we understood what the subject was about.  In this case the big question was ‘what is a computer network?’

So below you can see my answer to that question.  You will also be able to see the different features of a computer network. I enjoyed this unit because I learned a lot but especially as I had heard a lot of terms like ‘client-server’ before but now I actually know what they mean!
